*looks below* Unlike that Akurei seemed to think at the end of the last post, we have some more free time...
Warning: This is an LP of a game that contains blood, intense violence,
strong language, and suggestive (read "sexual") themes. If any of those
things offend you, don't click on the link below.

'*Ding dong, bing bong*'
Ugh... Not this again... (You're just not getting used to this, are you?) [sarcasm] How could you tell...? [/sarcasm]
Monokuma: Good morning, everyone! It is now 7 a.m. and nighttime is officially over! Time to rise and shine! Get ready to greet another beee-yutiful day!
Makoto Naegi: Morning, huh...? I hope Mondo and Taka survived...
Yeah...
Makoto Naegi: Worried about the two of them, I hurried to the dining hall more quickly than usual. And when I entered...
Mondo Owada: Bahahaha! What are you talkin' about, bro?
... (...)
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Kahahaha! What are YOU talkin' about, bro!?
... (...)
Makoto Naegi: What...the...?
[simultaneous] ...hell? (...fuck?) (..fudge?) [/simultaneous] [simultaneous] Are we going to see pigs flying soon? (Are we going to see pigs flying soon?) (Are we going to see pigs flying soon?) [/simultaneous]
Mondo Owada: Hey, Makoto!
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Thank you so much for acting as our witness yesterday!
Huh... Thanks...? ...I think.
Makoto Naegi: Huh? Are they...friends now?
Sure looks and sounds like it.
Aoi Asahina: They've been like this all morning. They were all buddy-buddy as soon as they walked in. It feels gross.
More like, "outside what we're used to" rather than "gross"... But, that's just me.
Mondo Owada: Feels gross! Hell no. Feels *great*, more like!
Aoi Asahina: This almost feels like sexual harassment, somehow...
Uh... How? I don't get it.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Forget her, bro. A girl like her just doesn't get our manly bond!
(You could also call it a "bromance".) (*ji...*) Niyagi, that's nothing worth glaring at Akurei for.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Friendship between men is stronger than blood! A woman could never understand!
(Try me!) Akurei, Ishimaru-kun can't hear you. (I don't care!)
Mondo Owada: What you just said? Bro, that was cool as shit! I should get a tattoo of it!
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: No, bro, you mustn't! Your body is a temple, given to you by your loving parents!
Wow, even their arguments have taken on a more friendly tone...
Makoto Naegi: So, um...who won the contest?
Mondo - Owada: Who gives a shit!?
(I do.) Somehow, I doubt you count.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Yeah, don't ask stupid questions! What matters is that we both took part in it together!
Makoto Naegi: That's...completely different from what you were saying last night.
Sakura Ogami: Friendship between men seems very...simplistic. Nothing like what I'm used to with girls.
Aoi Asahina: Yeah, for real...
Makoto Naegi: All throughout breakfast that morning...
(...was as strange as...) (...fuck!)
Makoto Naegi: ...the room was dominated by Mondo and Taka's overpowering "brotherhood"...
That works too.
Makoto Naegi: All in all, it was a pretty unfortunate experience.
I'd say it was more "unforgettable" but, then again, I'm anything but normal.
Makoto Naegi: So, what should I do today...?
'*Ding dong*'
Who's there? (I highly doubt it's going to be a door to door makeup salesperson...) (Or the Doctor for that matter.)
Makoto Naegi: Hmm? Who could that be? Wondering who had come to visit, I opened the door, and someone forced their way in.
Fukawa? (Meyers?) (Toko?) What are you doing here?
Makoto Naegi: T-Toko? What's the matter?
Toko Fukawa: Why are you s-so surpised? Am I really that an-noying?
In my case, maybe, but it's more like you're so anti-social most of the time that this is out-of-character for you.
Toko Fukawa: W-Well I already know I'm annoying. I came here kn-knowing that, so...that makes it o-okay...
...That's some insane troll logic there.
Makoto Naegi: No, you're not annoying... I just wondered what was going on.
Regardless of if anyone actually likes you, I'm wondering that myself...
Toko Fukawa: I have a f-f-favor to ask... I want you to [g-go somewhere with me]...
I think I might regret this but... Re:Action! Where do you want us to go?
Makoto Naegi: And...where is it you want to go?
Toko Fukawa: W-Well...the library.
The library?! Yay! ...But what for?
Makoto Naegi: Huh? Are you looking for a book or something? Why don't you just ask Byakuya? He spends all his time in the library, anyway.
Toko Fukawa: Kh--!
Makoto Naegi: D-Did I say something wrong...?
Depends...
Toko Fukawa: You're not a b-b-blabbermouth, right? This h-has to be a secret!
Makoto Naegi: I honestly have no idea what you're talking about, but if you want me to be quiet, I'll be quiet.
(I know what it is...! Togami has a stalker! Togami has a stalker! He does, I don't! He's gonna die, and I can sleep at night!) What!? Seriously!? (Heh-heh... Wouldn't YOU like to know?) Yes, so, tell me! Is Togami going to die?
Makoto Naegi: What!?
(Not telling.) Aw, come on!
Makoto Naegi: ...
Toko Fukawa: Then let's g-go to the library!
Makoto Naegi: Okay, I got it, the library... Jeez, why so pushy?
(Well... Why such a doormat, Naegi-kun?) *sigh* Just outside the library...
Toko Fukawa: Qu-Quiet! Be quiet when you g-go in! ...Don't l-let him see you!
Makoto Naegi: She actually *was* starting to get annoying, but I did what she said and gently crept into the library.
[sarcasm] Oh, now you notice? [/sarcasm]
Makoto Naegi: Unsurprisingly, Byakuya was there by himself, absorbed in a book.
Toko Fukawa: H-He's here... Ahaha...he's r-really here. Okay, M-Makoto. Go talk to him!
Makoto Naegi: What!?
Toko Fukawa: Stop b-being so loud! Just hurry up and g-go talk to him!
Makoto Naegi: *You* go talk to him, if you want to so bad...!
Toko Fukawa: I c-can't! I don't want to i-interrupt him...!
Makoto Naegi: That's...kinda crazy.
No kidding. (But, then again, she's not the one hearing voices in her head.) ... (Maybe, maybe not...) *sigh* Guess we have to do it...
Byakuya Togami: ...
Makoto Naegi: He seems to really be focused on that book. It doesn't seem like the best time to talk to him...
Byakuya Togami: Hey, you. What are you doing back there? I hate even having to look at you.
Makoto Naegi: Ah--so you noticed me, huh?
Byakuya Togami: ...Of course. How hurry up and leave. And take her with you.
All of us failed our hide checks.
Toko Fukawa: ...Hey, um...Byakuya?
Byakuya Togami: ...
Toko Fukawa: Remember how you said, "Don't be a woman who dominates w-weak men. Be a woman dominated by a s-strong man"?
I don't remember Togami ever saying that, besides... Dude, that's horribly sexist in just about every way possible!
Byakuya Togami: I never said that.
Toko Fukawa: W-Well, actually, I just thought it sounded like s-something you *might* say...
No, that would be something I'd expect to come out of Owada's mouth. (...Fair enough.) (Monster!) Or, rather, something Daemon would say. (True.)
Byakuya Togami: ...Get out.
*sigh* ...In this case, I'd have to agree with Togami.
Byakuya Togami: And go take a bath. You smell.
Toko Fukawa: Ngh--!
Byakuya Togami: Don't make me say it again. Go now, before your stench latches onto the entire room.
Toko Fukawa: O-Okay...
Well... That was easy. (Outside the library...)
Toko Fukawa: ...
Makoto Naegi: He really dug into us there. Maybe he's in a bad mood...
Toko Fukawa: ...
Makoto Naegi: She seems super depressed. Did he really upset her that much?
Toko Fukawa: Byakuya... To go that far... He must be r-really concerned about me!
Huh?
Makoto Naegi: ...Huh?
Toko Fukawa: He told me t-to take a bath and everything. He must really care a-about my well-being!
(Ah, so that's what that smell was...)
Makoto Naegi: ...
Toko Fukawa: Hey, M-Makoto...what do you think?
Makoto Naegi: Think...about what?
Toko Fukawa: Do you think B-Byakuya and I would be...g-good together?
Let me think about that... No.
Makoto Naegi: Um, well now...I-I don't really know.
Toko Fukawa: That's t-true. There's really no w-way to know...
[sarcasm] Great, Naegi-kun... [/sarcasm] Why do you have to encourage her!?
Toko Fukawa: But the distance between u-us doesn't change our love...!
Dude, I'm the mind reader here... (And what I saw in Byakuya's eyes wasn't love, it was loathing and disgust.)
Toko Fukawa: Because as soon as you realize your f-feelings, the love is born. That's h-how love works!
*facepalm* You're "love" is very, very one-sided...
Makoto Naegi: O...kay.
Toko Fukawa: There m-might come a day when y-you understand. Maybe. S-Someday. Well...bye.
Makoto Naegi: ...
Yeah... Akurei's right, Togami has a...
Monokuma: Ahh, young love!
What's up, bitches! Speaking of stalkers...
Makoto Naegi: Uwah!
Monokuma: Who would've ever guessed she would go for someone like him?
Well, she does seem like a dead-ringer for the trope of "aggressive-submissive"... Well, all women are meant to be dominated by men! *looks up* Yeah... I was completely right earlier. (About that "being something Daemon would say"...?) Pretty much.
Monokuma: But eager passion can also be scary! Sometimes that leads people off in the wrong direction!
I'd call that more "obsession" rather than "passion"...
Monokuma: Nyooohohohoho!
Kind of like a certain power-obsessed individual here... I'm not power obsessed! I'm just claiming what's rightfully mine! [sarcasm] Right... [/sarcasm] NOW GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!
Makoto Naegi: ...All of a sudden, I feel exhausted.
Oh, sorry about that Naegi-kun. It's just that there's another kind of "spirit individual" that hangs around Monokuma and, as you'll likely tell from my half of the conversation, we don't get along at all.
Makoto Naegi: Maybe I'll head back to my room for now...
(*sigh* Back at Makoto's room...)
Makoto Naegi: There's still some time left in the day. What to do...?
'Free Time'
Well, who are we going to hang with this time? (Well, how about Byakuya?) (Pansy...) Well, maybe there's a reason behind his behavior. Might as well... So...? (I don't even need the map, Togami's probably still in the library.) Given what happened the last two times I tried teleporting, I think it's best to just walk there.
'Leave the area?'
-Yes-
-No-
(One uneventful walk to the library later...) *sigh* Let's get this over with... Togami?
Byakuya Togami: ...
Makoto Naegi: He seems to really be focused on that book. Now's not really a good time to talk to him...
(Aw, man!) (Oh! How about Hagakure?) You mean Supernova? ...Well, since Maizono's death, he's the only one who knows I exist... Maybe. (Well, he thinks you're more of a guardian spirit rather than a ghost. Oh and, by the way, he's back in the dorm hallways.) We've confirmed there's no one near the lobby right now, so let's teleport back! (Once there...) Oh crap, didn't see Supernova in the corner! (Well, you were looking for him anyway.) *sigh* Here goes nothing...
Yasuhiro Hagakure: I had a dream last night... I saw that the spirit world was going to flood us with energy and save us from this school nightmare!
...Uh... Hi Supernova.
Yasuhiro Hagakure: It's a prophecy! Take heart, my man!
Makoto Naegi: Hmm... Should I hang out with Hiro for a while?
-Spend some time with Hiro-
-Go see who else is around-
That's what we're here for. Let's go...
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Oh, I've got something I wanted to show you! I got the stigmata...on my back!
So... You've got a non-fatal holy wound that never heals on your back?
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Heh-heh-heh. It's a gift from the gods!
(Then, maybe, you should return that gift for a refund.) (Monster! That's blasphemy!)
Makoto Naegi: Hiro showed me a scar on his back, though I didn't really get what it meant...
Yeah... I highly doubt that's an actual stigmata...
Makoto Naegi: Hiro and I grew a little closer today.
'Would you like to give Hiro a present?'
-Yes, definitely-
-Not really, no-
Well, I think I do have some things for him... (How about this Meteorite Arrowhead?) ...! How come I didn't notice this earlier!? (Huh? What?) The description says "An arrowhead discovered in some ancient ruins. Fashioned from a meteorite, they say that getting pierced by it will give you the power to see demons." It's a Stand Arrow! (*facepalm*)
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Guwaaah! Such mysterious power... This is a true-blue OOPart!
Okay, I guess you're kind of right about that. (...why me...?)
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Makoto! The dawn of a new era draws near!
Makoto Naegi: Seeing Hiro so pleased with something I gave him makes me happy!
Yeah, and I'd be happy if I can see what Supernova's Stand is. (Assuming he'd even survive getting hit by that in the first place.)
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Hey, Makoto. You know what I think? You and me meeting like this? It wasn't a coincidence. So I've got some good news for you! I'm gonna give you a psychic reading at a huge discount!
Makoto Naegi: A discount?
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Normally it's a thousand bucks for two hours. But for you? Let's call it nine hundred!
Dude! That isn't much of a "discount" at all!
Makoto Naegi: That's only a hundred-dollar discount! And even then it's way too expensive!
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Hey, come on! You should count yourself lucky that the Ultimate Clairvoyant is willing to tell your future!
(Well, Naegi has the ghost of the Ultimate Psychic haunting him.) I'd prefer the designation of "Guardian Spirit" if you ask me...
Makoto Naegi: ...So are you right pretty often?
Yasuhiro Hagakure: I sure am! At the bare minimum, I've got a 20% chance of accuracy!
Which means you're wrong eight times out of ten.
Makoto Naegi: 20% That sounds pretty sketchy...
I know, right!
Yasuhiro Hagakure: For real? Don't make that face! Didn't you hear what I said!? 20% of the time I'm right, every time!
No, that also means you're wrong 80% of the time. That's a pretty high failure rate...
Yasuhiro Hagakure: That includes natural disasters, election results, you name it! Don't you realize how amazing that is!?
Makoto Naegi: Umm...
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Okay, fine! I'll give you a special trial run! After all, I've already seen what the future has in store for you!
(Okay, let's see what you've got!)
Makoto Naegi: What!? When did you see it!?
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Heh heh heh. You won't believer what I saw... It would appear that the mother of your children, and the mother of *my* children, are the same woman!
(...) What?
Makoto Naegi: I refuse! Denied! Don't like it!
(...He's correct. In one possible timeline. But it's not one that we'll like.) Who? (Aoi Asahina.) No way!?
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Doesn't matter if you don't like it! That's just the way it is.
(In one timeline! In a better one, it most likely won't. But hey, the future can be seen as many branching paths... So to speak.)
Makoto Naegi: ...20% accuracy, you said?
Yasuhiro Hagakure: At least.
Makoto Naegi: I-I pray to everything holy that you're wrong! Please, be wrong!
In that case, I'll do everything in my power to prevent that future from happening! (Oh, then you're not going to like what you're going to have to do. Oh, and we're going to have to rely on some divine intervention to make even that work.) *gulp*
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Now then, since that was a special trial run, I'm afraid I can't apply the discount. That'll be one thousand dollars, please! Don't worry, you can pay me after we get outta here.
(But if that happens, then your prediciton will be rendered false.)
Makoto Naegi: W-Wait, hold on--! But there's no way you're gonna be right, right!?
Yasuhiro Hagakure: If you like, I can do a reading right now to see whether my reading was right or not.
No, you'd need a second opinion for that. (I already did. It's correct... To a point.)
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Naturally, additonal fees will apply! Think about it, okay? Let me know as soon as you're ready for my services! Hahaha!
Makoto Naegi: Oh...he's gone... Do I have enough in my bank account to take another crack at it...? ...No! I can't bring myself to pay for something like that!
Well, there's many futures but your actions in the present make specific futures more likely...
Makoto Naegi: I can see how people could fall into that kind of cycle, though. That was close... Please, whoever's listening, I'm beggin you... Whatever else happens, don't let him be right...!
(Well, you heard him!) Yeah, but you said... (Don't worry about it. I'm sure that "divine" intervention will happen.) So there's not an actual diety involved?
'Hiro's Report Card has been updated based on your experience with him. You just unlocked the skill Lost in Thought! Give yourself a pat on the back. You've earned it!'
Makoto Naegi: Once we were all done, I headed back to my room for a little while...
'*Ding dong, bing bong*'
...
Monokuma: Ahem! School announcement, school announcement. Nighttime is quickly approaching, but before it arrives... All students, please gather in the gym immediately. Emergency! Emergency!
Makoto Naegi: Gather in the gym...?
I don't like the sound of this one bit...
Makoto Naegi: Why now all of a sudden?
We'll find out soon enough, but I suspect it's not going to be anything good.
Makoto Naegi: ... I really don't like the sound of this... Either. I have a terrible feeling...
Well, that's a frog we're going to have to eat. Let's go...
'Leave the area?'
-Yes-
-No-
...Kirigiri-san?
Makoto Naegi: Oh, Kyoko! Did you hear the announcement just now?
Kyoko Kirigiri: Yes...
Makoto Naegi: I don't want to go, but...we don't have any other choice, right?
Kyoko Kirigiri: I can't imagine it's going to be good news. But it's not a good idea to defy him here and now... So I'm going on ahead.
Makoto Naegi: I really can't do anything except what Monokuma tells me...
...I'd still rather not speak to Owada if I can get away with it. (In the Gym Lobby...) Hey! It's Alphmega!
Makoto Naegi: Hey, Hifumi. How come you haven't gone in yet?
Hifumi Yamada: Huwayah!? Mr. Naegi! Don't scare me like that!
Makoto Naegi: S-Sorry... But we really should go inside.
Hifumi Yamada: No, don't go... You can't go!
Why not?
Hifumi Yamada: That's what my ghost friend is telling me...
...There's a difference between not wanting to go somewhere and telling someone they shouldn't go somewhere.
Makoto Naegi: I don't feel good about it either, but...we can't just ignore this.
Hifumi Yamada: Damn...that's true, too! I guess we have no choice...
Makoto Naegi: I have to go, too.
Unfortunately...
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Hmm... Asking us to gather together all of a sudden like this... What could he possibly want?
Celeste: Indeed. What might await us this time?
Byakuya Togami: Hmhmhm. He keeps things interesting, that's for certain.
Hifumi Yamada: How is that funny? Can't you smile like a normal person once in a while?
(Like you have any right to talk about what's "normal"...)
Hifumi Yamada: Like how the housewife on a classic TV show smiles at the end of an episode?
Aoi Asahina: There's something totally messed up with you if you can laugh at a time like this!
(What Aoi said!) Come on! Laughing can be a legitimate coping mechanism! "Fake it 'till you make it" and such.
Byakuya Togami: Which of us is *actually* "messed up," hmm?
(Let's see... Shimohi, Yasuhiro, Hifumi...) (The Pansy, Meyers, Ishimaru...) Byakuya, Fukawa, Owada... (And we can't forget about Celestia, Ogami, and Monokuma.) Huh?
Aoi Asahina: Wh-What's that supposed to mean...?
Byakuya Togami: Nothing in particular. Just admiring, that's all...
(Oooo...!) [sarcasm] Great, you just gave Fukawa more stalker fuel... [/sarcasm]
Byakuya Togami: I don't want to kill anyone. But I also don't want to stay here, living in blind denial day after day. I was just admiring how you could live like that and still keep your sanity.
Aoi Asahina: I'm not in denial...
Byakuya Togami: That reminds me. Remember how you kept talking about how the police or whoever would come help us? How'd that turn out? It seems to me there's no sign whatsoever of possible rescue.
Aoi Asahina: Th-That's just...I wonder what actually happened.
Kyoko Kirigiri: It's strange, that's true. There's no way to police wouldn't know about it. We're right in the middle of a major urban area.
Hifumi Yamada: The police suck!
(Blessed straight!)
Celeste: On the contrary, the mastermind may be just that powerful, to take control even of the police...
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Oh! This might not be related, but--
Toko Fukawa: Then don't say it.
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Nope, gonna say it! It's about last night. I was near the main hall, just staring off into space. Whe all of a sudden...I heard it.
"Heard"...what?
Chihiro Fujisaki: You heard what?
Yasuhiro Hagakure: A sound that...I don't really know what it was...
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Wh-What kind of sound?
Yasuhiro Hagakure: Well like I said, I don't really know. But if I *had* to describe it...it was like...a construction site, I guess?
Makoto Naegi: A construction site...?
Yasuhiro Hagakure: I mean, I could just be making that up. I only just barely heard anything...
Toko Fukawa: Then you d-definitely made it up. M-Must've just been the sound of the ocean in th-that head of yours...
???: Say what!? Whatchoo talkin' about, Toko!?
Huh? (Who's that?) (S Bear...) Wha... Oh, the "Sadistic Bear" just poped out onto the stage.
Kyoko Kirigiri: He's arrived...
Monokuma: What Hiro heard wasn't the sound of construction...but it *could* have been an explosion!
[sarcasm] Hey, Daemon. Long time, no see... [/sarcasm] Hey! Don't you take that tone with me!
Makoto Naegi: Huh...?
Monokuma: Or maybe a machine gun! Puhuhu... That can kinda sound like constructin in a way!
Makoto Naegi: What are you talking about...?
Oh... Did that machine gun in the pool go off?
Monokuma: Ah-ah-ah! Beyond this point my mouth is zipped, my lips are sealed, I am fully puckered! It's a secret little secret!
Well, you completely failed at keeping the fact that it's a secret "secret"... Idiot! That's now what Monokuma meant!
Kyoko Kirigiri: Fine, then let's move on to what you *can* tell us. Why did you call us all here?
Monokuma: You don't beat around the ol' bush, do ya!? Ready for me to get to the point, huh? But before that, you mind if I vent a little?
Yes, I do mind! Your opinion doesn't count!
Monokuma: I'm low on energy these days. My stitching's even losing all its shine and luster... I'm thinking, it's probably become of this ho-hum, boring old everyday life. I'm looking for something with a little more stimulation, something rife with danger and intrigue!
I'd rather go on an adventure with my own body, rather than drag some poor innocent soul into that kind of a mess!
Monokuma: Listen, can I just be frank?
No. Be quiet! Shut up!
Monokuma: The next blackened hasn't shown up yet, and I'm getting booooored! So, I've decided to come up with a new way to motivate you!
Makoto Naegi: M-Motivate...!? Is it another set of videos or something...?
And... Naegi-kun's flashing back to that ruined living room...
Makoto Naegi: Are you gonna show us some demented thing to try and drive us all to murder!?
Monokuma: Drive you to murder!? What a mean thing to say! Just awful!
That's because that's exactly what it is! Driving someone to murder is just awful! SHUT YOUR FUCKING TRAP! Never!
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: I don't know what you've got planned, but we're not going to kill each other anymore! No matter what you do, I swear to God we won't!
Monokuma: Hmm. That's very big talk. Do your very best to back it up, okay? Now then, with yor permission, let me begin!
The Sadistic Bear's going to lay out the "motivation" no matter how much we object, isn't he...
Monokuma: So, this time it's...embarrassing memories and secrets! As long as you're alive, it's a given that there's things you don't want other people to know about you! So I did a little investigating of my own, and I dug up some of your darkest secrets!
Monokuma: And those embarrassing memories and secrets are all contained in the envelopes I have right here... I'm going to hand them out now, so take a second to take a peek!
Makoto Naegi: As Monokuma spoke, he tossed the envelopes at our feet. I quickly snatched the envelope with my name written on it. I nervously pulled out what was written inside...and my entire body suddenly went rigid.
"Makoto wet the bed until he was in 5th grade."
(Lame, not really worth being called a "dark secret" at all.) It isn't that bad of a secret. (That's just because you hardly have any shame!)
Makoto Naegi: What...!?
Aoi Asahina: H-How...?
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: How'd you find out about this!?
Makoto Naegi: Everyone started talking at once.
Monokuma: You have 24 hours! If someone doesn't become blackened by then...all your deepest, darkest, most embarrassingest secrets will be exposed to the world! Maybe I'll roll by a crowded intersection in a van strapped with loudspeakers and spill the beans! Kyaaah! Wouldn't that be sooo embarrassing!?
(Childish, mostly.) Then again, what's the point of being grown-up if you can't be childish sometimes?
Makoto Naegi: ...So that's what you meant by "motivate"?
Monokuma: Yup, you got it! They're all pretty unpleasant, trust me. None of you want me to reveal that stuff, right?
Makoto Naegi: It's definitely something I'd rather people not know, but...
"But"... What?
Makoto Naegi: ...we'd never kill over something like that!
Well, of course we wouldn't. (But other people...)
Monokuma: Wh-What'd you say!?
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: He's right! Your plan is doomed to fail! No one's gonna murder someone for this kind of thing!
Monokuma: O-Oh no... Is it because...for better or worse, your memory is still a way to connect to the outside world? I have stuff I wouldn't want anyone to know no matter what, so I assumed you'd all be the same...
*sigh* ...Not everyone cares that much about what other people think of them.
Monokuma: Which is why I put so much effort into preparing this next motive! Maaan! You're saying you really won't kill each other over this stuff? That just sucks! ...Well, what can ya do?
Stop holding us hostage and let us go? Fat chance!
Monokuma: Okay, then in 24 hours, I'll expose all your secrets just to make myself feel a little better! So sad, so depressed! Farenotwell...!
Makoto Naegi: With an almost convincing look of depressed dejection on his face, Monokuma receded into the gym's depths.
(...) Akurei? (I was so sure that someone's going to end up motivated to kill because of this. Maybe I just jumped the gun on exactly when...)
Aoi Asahina: I didn't know what to expect at first, but...maybe we dodged a bullet on this one. I mean yeah, having those secrets revealed is gonna be totally embarrassing. But that's seriously not enough to give someone a reason to kill, right?
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Good news, everyone! I have a brilliant idea!
([sarcasm] Oh really? Just what is this, oh so, "brilliant" idea? [/sarcasm])
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Why don't we all just confess the secrets in those envelopes right here and now!? If we do that, any and all motive for muder will vanish! That's pretty smart, right!? Okay, so my embarrassing thing is...
Toko Fukawa: I d-don't want to hear your stupid s-story!
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: What!?
Toko Fukawa: Besides, I don't...I don't w-want to talk about it...
(Or, more like, you don't want to talk about "her"...)
Toko Fukawa: I don't c-care what anyone says, I don't want to talk a-about mine!
Celeste: Neither do I. Not because it is unpleasant, but because it is impossible.
Hifumi Yamada: Well it's just human nature to wanna hear it when you say it's impossible! C'mon, it'll be good for ya!
I think I recall hearing a story, or something, about how you could guarantee a human would hit a doomsday activation button is to put a sign saying not to press said button...
Celeste: Absolutely not.
Hifumi Yamada: it's okay, just a little bit. C'mon c'mon c'mon...!
Celeste: As I said--
Hifumi Yamada: C'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon!
"HAATO DOKYUN de BACHIBACHI sunzen!" ("IE IE IE IE IE IE IE IE IE! DOKI DOKYUUN!") (*facepalm* Now you're singing one of the ending themes from Naruto Shippuuden...) It's "Yokubou wo Sakebe!!!" to be precise.
Celeste: I said I don't wanna talk about it, you human bag of lard!
Hifumi Yamada: Kyaaah!
Byakuya Togami: I agree with them. There's no need to discuss it.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: What do you think, Chihiro?
Chihiro Fujisaki: Um...s-sorry, I don't really want to talk about it right now. But I also don't want to leave things the way they are. So maybe I can talk about it later... After I try my best...to become strong... Then I can tell everyone.
Aoi Asahina: If you don't wanna talk, you don't have to. I'm not super excited to talk about it, either...
Mondo Owada: If everyone's that much against it... Even if my bro's the one that suggested it, I gotta say no.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: W-Well, that's okay, then. Either way, if it's just a few secrets, I'm sure nobody's about to kill anybody over it.
(Oh...! You HAVE NO IDEA!) "Ready 'normal people'!?" (Ready!) (You're everything but "normal"...) Hit it! [simultaneous] "The Internet is for Porn!" ("The Internet is for Porn!") [/simultaneous] (No! No! No! No musical numbers! Especially not THAT one!)
Makoto Naegi: I hope you're right...
(Nope.) Why'd you have to... Oh wait, never mind...
Makoto Naegi: A secret so bad you'd kill someone to keep it... Nobody's got something like that, right?
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Okay, I'll stop with all the secret talk. But...
"Manga no yomisugi to iu kedo." ("Boku wa zettai ni zettai ni...") [simultaneous] "Uso nanka itte 'nai!" ("Uso nanka itte 'nai!") [/simultaneous] (Huh?) Let's try that again in English... "People say 'You read too much manga'." ("But I never ever...") [simultaneous] "...Tell a lie!" ("...Tell a lie!") [/simultaneous] (Oh, it's the opening theme to Gundam ZZ... But what did I just say about musical numbers!?) Well, surely you remember... (That we don't give a shit what you think about us breaking out into song.)
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Each of us has 24 hours to get ready! Having our secrets exposed isn't going to be fun, but it's not like we're gonna die cuz of it! So, you know, um... Don't do anything hasty!
Hifumi Yamada: The way you keep repeating it kinda makes me worry even more...
Kiyotaka Ishimaru: Oh... Uh, okay, sorry. I know it's gonna be tough, but...
'*Ding dong, bing bong*'
...
Monokuma: Mm, ahem, this is a school announcement. It is now 10 p.m. As such, it is officially nighttime. Soon the doors to the dining hall will be locked, and entry at that point is strictly prohibited. Okay then...sweet dreams, everyone! Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite...
...Yeah, Monokuma still pisses me off.
Yasuhhiro Hagakure: Nighttime already, huh? Okay, let's call it a day.
Sakura Ogami: Good idea. We need to prepare for tomorrow.
Makoto Naegi: I was left with an anxiety I just couldn't shake, but...we left things as they were, and left things as they lay.
(For now, anyway.)
Makoto Naegi: One by one, we headed back to our rooms.
*yawn* Yeah...
Makoto Naegi: Secrets or memories you don't want anyone to know about... A way to connect to the outside world... Honestly, all that crap Monokuma was spouting didn't have any effect on me. There's no way anyone would kill over stuff like that. At least, that's what I thought.
(Like I said, there's going to be another Class Trial soon...)
Makoto Naegi: But maybe I was just being optimistic. Which is probably why, without too much of a struggle... Jeez, I'm more tired than usual. Super tired today...
Sorry about that. Having to deal with being possessed by me on top of this already stressful situation...
Makoto Naegi: ...I fell asleep.
Good... Night... Naegi..kun...
Makoto Naegi: But what I didn't know is that even then...a tragedy was taking place.
'Monokuma Theatre'
Monokuma: Hey, do you have a second? I wanna confide in you... It's about the prevailing world attitude right now.
So... What about it?
Monokuma: The difference between passive and active. I mean... For example, it's the difference between like, "Oops! I killed him," and "Yeah that's right. I killed him."
Kind of murder-specific, but yeah. Men are meant to be active while women are meant to be passive.
Monokuma: Amazingly, there are tons of people who don't understand the difference. Can you believe it!?
Yeah, like there's tons of men who refuse to accept their birthright while women flat out reject their God-given fates!
Monokuma: But there's a HUGE difference between "Oops!" and "That's right." You know what I'm saying, right?
Yes... Yes, I do.
Monokuma: Anyone can kill someone in the heat of the moment. But surprisingly few can do it with calculated intent. To make that choice, then put it into action, it's way harder than just letting your emotions lead you. It's all about preparation. Resolve.
Just like I'm prepared and resolved to achieve my rightful role as ruler of all existence!
Monokuma: So maybe you're wondering, what's the point I'm trying to make? Well, I'm not totally sure myself. Maybe you should try reading between the lines.
And I already have!

And... Up next... (Another student tragically looses his life...) I've got a bad feeling about this...
