No Game No Life: The First Impressions

Our world... It's a world where fate is cruel and order unkind... Where conformity is worshipped and anything that's in any way different is crushed and tossed aside... But, if you find out that you've been born in the wrong world, would you accept an invitation to another world? One where it's promised that you'll thrive? More on my thoughts about the first episode of "No Game No Life" after the jump cut...

-------------------------------------
Our protagonists, Sora and Shiro, two siblings who are... Not Employed in Education or Training, or NEET for short. Spend their time playing games... (presumably games of all types) ...when they receive the invitation I was talking about in the preview. And, like Keima Katsuragi, they believe that the real world is a broken game. So, of course they accept! And then they end up in a fantasy world ("Disboard" I believe it's called) where everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) is decided by "simple" games. Not that I think poker is a simple game at all...

No, seriously, I can memorise the rules to both Duel Monsters (the fictional Trading Card Game from the series Yu-gi-oh!) and CardFight Vanguard!! (from the series of the same name) along with at least most of the Joestar family tree, and yet any attempt to remember poker hands end up going in one ear and out the other! Okay, back to the episode...

So, in this one... Kingdom I presume, they're holding a gambling tournament to decide who the next ruler will be... I know it sounds strange, but it seems that was part of the late kings last will; go figure.

So, after Sora not only wins a pouch full of gold... By cheating at poker. Note to self: Along with Allen Walker, never EVER play a game of poker with Sora of the Blank siblings. And negotiating a two-nights stay at the local inn for a single coin, he discusses about how most people in stories when they end up in another world try to return home. But, given what I've seen of the lives of the Blank siblings, I was not surprised at all when they decided... To not... Return... "Home". Likely because, to them, the world of Disboard IS home.

Yeah, this series sounds interesting. Would definitely continue watching!
