Visual Novelist: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors #9 - Tin-foil Hat time 4: "9" the Arc Number!

Well, we have officially learned that Snake is dead. (Or is he...) (Monster! That's not funny!) (Who said that was a joke.) (What's that supposed to mean!?) Oh look at this, this is the nineth post of the 'Nine' Hours 'Nine' Persons 'Nine' Doors Let's Play! Hurray! Now let's see what happens this time...

Warning!: This is based upon a game that's rated M for Blood, Drug References, Strong Language, Suggestive (read 'Sexual') themes, and Violence. If any of these things offend you, don't click on the link.

Ace: Snake is...dead. He died...just as the 9th Man did.
Junpei: !
That's a strange sound... (The readers can't hear it!)

'It was as if all the air had suddenly been sucked out of the room. Junpei felt his heartbeat quicken, and he realized he was having trouble breathing.'
Okay, has anyone been messing around with a Death Note!?

'He could feel cold sweat beading on his forehead and neck. June, Santa, and Lotus looked the way he felt. All 3 were frozen in place, their faces white.'

June: Oh my God... That's not true, is it...?
Junpei: ...
Lotus: We should make sure!
Junpei: Y-Yeah, right, we should...

'They nodded to one another, and headed for the number [3] door--'

Seven: Wait! Not that way.

'They stopped short, and turned to look at Seven. He was pointing at the [door with no number]...' (Oh, right...)

Seven: I stuck a screwdriver in there, to keep the door from closing all the way. It's not locked, so you can go in that way.
Junpei: Where is...where is he?
Seven: The [shower room], on the left side of the hallway. I put a broom in there too, to keep the door open.
Santa: We can get in without going though the numbered door, right?
Seven: Yeah, that's right.

'Their new destination clear, Junpei and his companions headed for the [door with no number]. Once in the hallway, it was easy to spot the metal door on the left wall. It hadn't been open when they'd been through before... But now, just as Seven had said, there was a broom stuck between the door and the frame, keeping it open.'
And...why didn't we see this on our way back from the Saturn elevator and Earth door? ("Weirdness censor" no shit Sherlock!)

'They looked at it for a moment, then stepped inside.'

Lotus: Ugh... It smells horrible...
(Man, the janitors here must be lazy as fuck.)

'Lotus wrinkled her nose and covered her mouth in disgust. Even Santa pinched his nose shut...'

Santa: Yeah, this is pretty awful... I feel like I'm gonna puke.

'It was just as bad as they said--perhaps worse. A hideous smell filled the air, so thick they could almost taste it.'
("Smell the meat!") (*runs off to barf*) *Hold nose* I'd have to admit, that was kind of bad. Not in the good way.

'It was sour, and smelled of fish, feces, and burnt meat... It worked its way through Junpei's nose and down his throat, to pound against the entrance to his stomach. He put his hands over his mouth, and struggled to keep what little was in his stomach where it belonged. They didn't have to wonder where the body was.'
No kidding...

'There was blood everywhere, a few arms of the splatter reaching toward them as they walked in though the door. All one had to do was follow the many radial arms to their source... The body itself was hidden behind a divider.'

Junpei: June, you should stay here.
June: But...
(She's going to see it anyway...)

Junpei: Please, just do me a favor, okay? All right?

'He didn't give her a chance to say no. He put his hand on her shoulder, as if to shove her into the ground like a tentpole, turned, and walked toward the end of the divider. It felt like it took an eternity for him to get there. Santa and Lotus followed, timid and nervous as a pair of children. Eventually, they reached the divider. They looked at one another and nodded, slowly. Junpei put his hands on the divider and peered around the corner.'

'For a moment, he forgot to breathe. He felt his heart collapse in his chest like an empty cigarette carton, and time froze. He knew in that instant that he would take the image before him to the grave.' (Which will be sooner than you think...)

'What was left of the body sat in a sea of blood. Chunks of flesh, torn from the body, sat in the blood like tiny islands in a great, red sea. A vast, ragged hole had been torn in the torso, and what remained of his intestines spilled out of it like fresh spaghetti. Smaller chunks of meat had splattered against the wall, and become stuck there as they dried. Globules of yellowish fat had left trails like tiny slugs as gravity pulled them down the wall, even as they dried to it.'
(And...looks like I can have my 9th Snake Chunky Salsa Dip (tm) after all!) And...Niyagi returned, only to hear what Akurei just said and went to puke again.

Santa: Just like Ace said...

'Santa's voice was strained. Junpei suspected he was holding down some vomit of his own.'

Santa: Just like the 9th Man.
(And just like the 9th Man, his sacrifice will not be in vain. For he's now part of my awesome nachos! ...Or is he?) Dun-dun...hey wait!? What are you implying? (Exactly what you think I'm implying.)

Santa: The detonator in his bracelet set off the bomb in his gut.

'It looked as though the explosion had been quite powerful. His legs were both bent in an odd, unnatural way, and his left arm had split open, exposing the painfully white bone of his ulna.'
(Wait a cotton picking minute! That doesn't look right...) I know, legs are not supposed to bend like that. (No, I mean the arm.) What about the arm? (Oh, nothing. Nothing is wrong with the completely organic left arm...)

'His bracelet lay next to him. It seemed to have hit the wall hard enough to have shattered the display, which lay on the ground in pieces. Half of his head had simply collapsed. The blood coating almost made it look like raw pizza dough covered in tomato sauce. His clothes, too, were covered in blood. The burgundy tie, the white shirt, the jacket with the yellow piping, and the gray slacks... They were all familiar to Junpei.'

Lotus: No mistake about that. It's Snake...

'Lotus's voice was unnaturally deep and strained, and Junpei heard it catch in her throat. ... ...The squeal of tortured metal made Junpei's teeth curl. It sounded like the noise a ghost would make. No matter how many times he heard it, he never got used to it. Every time, it put him on edge. It didn't help that there was a girl nearby who looked far more like a ghost than a living human should. It was Clover.'
(Of course it's her...)

'She sat on the edge of the bed, her head drooping listlessly onto her chest. Her eyes were blank, and stared across the room at nothing. Her breathing was slow and mechanical. Aside from the rise and fall of her chest, she didn't move. Junpei felt as if even a nudge might cause her to shatter into a thousand pieces.'
"But I'm breaking to...pieces. More and more..." ("Acting on the edge!") (Nope, nope! I have had enough of your stupid habit of breaking out into song over the silliest little thing!) Whoa, Niyagi, what's the problem? This is what we usually do here, make silly comments while playing games... (I think that you two are leading us into a bad end.) ...huh?

Seven: Snake was probably murdered. Chances are he was killed the same way the 9th Man was.
(As in, "Ace lying about how the doors work, causing the detonator to activate and blow up.") (You're always accusing Ace of doing these kinds of things.) (That's because he did do it!)

'Seven lowered his voice, likely in an effort to keep Clover from hearing what he had to say. There were 4 other people in the room with Junpei and Seven. Ace, Santa, June, and Lotus. Seven looked at each one of them in turn, and continued.'

Seven: It's pretty straightforward. Not that hard to figure out how they did it. First, the killers got Snake to authenticate on the RED to open door [3]. Then they shoved him into it, alone...And waited 9 seconds for the door to shut. Once that door shut, it was over for Snake, but he didn't give up. He probably knew it wouldn't do him any good, but he probably ran into the shower room looking for the DEAD. It was a small chance, but it wasn't like he had anything to lose. Unfortunately, it didn't work. The detonator's only deactivated if everybody who authenticated when they went in uses the DEAD. And then 81 seconds after he was shoved in... That happened.
Junpei: I see... So that's what you meant by killers, huh. You need at least 3 people to open on of the numbered doors, including Snake. It wouldn't open for Snake and a single killer.
Well, it is possible if the killer held back the second person, who wasn't otherwise involved in this, from dragging Snake out of the door or Ace into said door... (What!? Even you think Ace did it!)

Seven: Exactly. That means we're looking at multiple perps here.

'Junpei crossed his arms and grunted.'

Junpei: Well, just in case, I wanna make sure.
"Make sure" of...what?

Junpei: Let's say you're right... When do you think Snake was killed?
Seven: When we all split up to look for the parts for the REDs... I think. Right after that was when we noticed he was gone.
Junpei: Then that means none of us have alibis. We were all off searching the rooms we'd been assigned, looking for those parts...
Seven: Yeah... That means anybody could be a killer.
June: W-Wait a minute! What are you talking about?!

'June seemed shocked.'

June: How can you say 1 of us is a killer so casually?!
Seven: Well, not just 1 of us. If I'm right, then at least 2 of us are murderers.
Ace: Why don't you calm down a bit, Seven... What are you going to gain by being so suspicious? That's what Zero wants, you know.
Seven: What...Zero wants?
Ace: Exactly. This game was set up by Zero, wasn't it? Any game has a winner and loser.
Maybe, but have you considered that maybe this is more like Pandemic than, say, Monopoly?

Ace: Whoever makes it through door [9] is a winner, and those who don't are the losers. Zero is trying to make us fight against one another for that victory.
I think it's more like Seven's trying to figure out who the Bio-Terrorist is in a game of Pandemic...

June: Then you're saying that Zero is trying to split us up by making us fight each other?
Ace: Yes. That is why we can't let ourselves fall prey to suspicion. We have to trust one another, and form a strong bond of friendship.
Kind of like fire-forged friends?

Ace: Otherwise, we'll end up ensnared by Zero's manipulations.
(Funny that you...oops, I'd rather not lose my now even more awesome nachos now...)

Lotus: Then, does that mean that...the person who killed Snake...
Ace: Yes. Almost certainly Zero himself. If there's anyone we should doubt, it should be Zero. He masterminded this game, and kidnapped all of us. Doesn't it seem reasonable that he would have killed Snake as well?

'Junpei hadn't really considered that. if Zero had killed Snake, then Zero was on the ship with them.'

<<Was Zero still on the ship with them...?>>

-Junpei wasn't sure.-
-Of course.-
Well...

'He wasn't sure.'

Junpei: Hey, I'm just wondering about 1 thing...
Ace: And what's that?
Junpei: How can you be so sure that Zero's on this ship?

'Ace's eyebrows shot up.'

Ace: Really, Junpei? I confess, I'm a little disappointed. Usually you're rather sharp. Isn't it obvious?
Junpei: Obvious? How so?
Ace: "This ship."
Junpei: ...Huh?
Ace: Zero said "this ship" several times when he addressed us.

"I am Zero... The captain of this ship."
"The purpose of the game is simple... Leave this ship alive. "
"As you have no doubt surmised, this ship has begun to sink."
Let me check that...yeah, he's right.

Ace: If he weren't here, he wouldn't say "this ship", would he? He'd be saying something like "that ship" or "the ship".
Well, he would if he was lying... (Aw, just shut 'the ship' up already!) (Why, oh, why me...?)

Junpei: Oh... Yeah, I guess that makes sense.

'Ace's explanation made perfect sense. Junpei felt a little foolish that he hadn't seen it himself.' Well, all of us have our off days...

'Still, he was left with a question, and it was one of no small importance.'

Junpei: If Zero's on the ship...where is he?
(I'd love to answer that, but...something important to me is at stake here...)

'Suddenly, everyone went very quiet.'
Well the ship sure isn't quiet. (I can hear it creaking... *shudder*) What!? It's just some creaking. (And...it seems the two and a half times Shimohi played this before the LP has resulted in being conditioned to accept horror...then again, my ruined vocabulary has been the result of my own conditioning as well.)

'The silence was cold and clammy, and Junpei could feel it crawling across his back and around his throat. Again, he heard the ghosting moaning noise.' (Now he can hear it...Junpei...) ("Tenmyouji") (...has been conditioned as well!) Speaking of hearing things...

'And moments later, a person who looked more ghost than human appeared. It was Clover.' A wild Clover appeared!

'She looked at the floor as she spoke, and her voice was a cold monotone.'

Clover: I think... I think Zero is...one of us...
(Dun-dun-duuuun!) (*ji...*) (What!? It's Clover who said it, not me. And not about anyone in particular.)

'?! Every human body in the room froze. The only sound was the muffled rustling of breath. Eyes darted from face to face. One of those faces was the face of their jailer.'
("Your face! Your face! Your face!") (And...we're going from the smell of actual poop to poop of the YouTube variety...)

'...But who? Junpei...'

<<Said...>>

-"Hmm... Well, that's possible."-
-"That's crazy!"-
(Well, since the Pansy hijacked the controls once already; now it's my turn!)

Junpei: Hmm... Well, that's possible.
June: ...Huh?
Junpei: Like Clover said, Zero might be one of us.
June: W-What are you saying, Jumpy?! Didn't you hear what Ace said?!
Ace: Exactly. I said we shouldn't suspect one another for no reason--
Junpei: No reason? I've got a great reason.
Santa: And what's that?
Junpei: The bracelets.

'He held out his left arm.'

Junpei: Why are the bombs in our bodies connected to the [bracelets]? You're all thinking Zero's hiding somewhere, watching us, right? If he's doing that, then he could just detonate the bombs by remote control if someone did something they weren't supposed to. It would be a lot more precise, and a lot easier. But... If that's the case, then why is the bomb set off by the detonator in the bracelet?
Santa: Huh... You got a point.
Junpei: I'm not done. Try applying the same ideas to the Nonary Game. All of the puzzles here run all by themselves. In other words, Zero doesn't have to be controlling them for the game to move forward. Why's that? Why would Zero bother to do something like that?

'Junpei let the question hang in the air, and looked at the others. It was Santa who answered.'

Santa: So let's say you and Clover are right. Zero's one of us. If that's the case, then it'd be really hard for him to keep track of all of us, or control anything remotely. That's why all the puzzles run by themselves. ...That's what you're getting at, right?
This is looking like a forth instalment of Tin-foil Hat time...

Junpei: Yeah.

'Junpei nodded.'

Junpei: Seven, when we were talking earlier... You said any one of us could be Snake's killer, right?
Seven: Yeah, something like that.
Junpei: All right then, I've got a question for you, Ace. You said something like "Zero must be the one who killed Snake", right?
Ace: Yes, something like that. I can't think of any other explanation.
Junpei: So what do we get if we combine those? The fit together pretty well, I think. Something like this... (Whoever killed Snake) = (Zero) = (one of us) Seven and Ace's theories aren't mutually exclusive. They actually complement each other pretty well. At least they do if Zero is one of us.

'No one spoke.'
As in "This makes a lot of sense!" or "This makes no sense what so ever..."?

'Their faces were grim, but Junpei wasn't sure if they believed him or not. Finally, Lotus spoke up.'

Lotus: What were his motives?
Junpei: His motives?
Lotus: Yes.
(Do you have cotton stuffed up your ears, Junpei...) ("Tenmyouji.") (Holy Shit! Where did that voice come from!?) So, you can hear it as well?

Lotus: Isn't that pretty important? Why would Zero want to hide as one of us?
Junpei: Oh... Well, that's because...um...

'Junpei choked.'
(Well, even if I could say this without my nachos being at stake, I doubt anyone would believe me.)

'He hadn't though of that, and he had to be honest with himself... He had no idea.'

Junpei: I...don't know...

'Lotus sighed.'

Lotus: Well, so much for making a persuasive argument, Junpei.
Ace: In other words, you had only circumstantial evidence.
Seven: I don't really think that's enough to go on, you know...?

'Junpei was painfully aware of their eyes on him, and their disapproval. He tried to find something else--anything else--to look at. Just when he felt he could bear it no longer--They heard a bell begin to ring. It was the clock at the central staircase.'

Santa: 3 in the morning...
Even if I went to bed at midnight, I'd be asleep by now.

Lotus: That means we have 3 hours left...
Ace: Then we need to move, now. Seven, Clover, Junpei... I know how you feel, but you do understand that, right now, it's important we trust one another, don't you?

'Junpei couldn't bring himself to respond. He swallowed the words he wanted to say, and sighed. Seven and Clover remained similarly silent. Their eyes were looking at something somewhere else, every far away.'

Ace: We must go! We have very little time left!

'Ace's words put their feet to moving. They all knew where they were going. Their next destination...was [Mercury]. It sat, bolted to the wall near the stairs that led to the casino and the kitchen, between the 2 elevators.'
Wait, I don't remember ever going to the Mercury elevators before... (Ah ha! So you do remember your previous playthroughs!)

'The Mercury card reader. Junpei stood in front of it with the [Mercury key card]... Seven had given him the card.

Seven: I found it when we were checking out the shower room.

'At least, that's what he'd said. Junpei slid the card though the reader. The light on the reader turned green and made a tiny, electronic noise. Now, they were ready.'
I'm not!

'Junpei and June had been chosen as the investigators. The reasoning being that they had been to E Deck before, and no one else had. As before, Junpei sent the elevator ahead, to make sure the floor they were heading to wasn't flooded. As before, the elevator returned as dry as when it had left. Once it had been checked for water, Junpei and June stepped into the elevator.'
I'm getting the idea... (...that it's not water we should be worried about here...)

'There were only 2 floor buttons they could push... The "C" and "Bottom" buttons. The rest were destroyed or did nothing when pushed. Junpei hit the "Bottom" button. The door closed.'
(Huh...for some reason Shimohi and the Monster are freaking out like no tomorrow...)

'Slowly, they began to move downward. Some time later, Junpei and June stepped off the elevator and onto the [Bottom Deck]. The stepped off, and saw that the hallway to their right ended somewhere between 20 and 25 feet from them. The hallway in front of them was a dead end... But not a regular dead end.

June: This is a numbered door...
Junpei: This is the 8th one we've found...
*sigh of relief* Thank goodness... (Well, we forgot how exactly door 2 was found.)

'There were 2 numbered doors on B Deck, near the central staircase. They were doors [4] and [5]. There were 3 more numbered doors in the large hospital room... Doors [3], [7], and [8]. Junpei and June had found another door on E Deck and Lotus and Santa had found a 7th on A Deck. There was a [6] on the door on E Deck... And a [1] on the door on A Deck. [4], [5], [3], [7], [8], [6], [1]... And now, door [2] stood in front of Junpei. There was only one thing it meant.'

June: Do you think...the next door we find...
Junpei: Yeah, I think so. The next one's gonna be door [9].
So, Akurei and I got scared over nothing...(Well, that's what you get for looking at the Nightmare Fuel page for this game on TV Tropes.org.)

'Despite himself, Junpei felt excited. There was something about that excitement that frightened him as well. He did his best to put it from his mind, and headed back to C Deck with June. ... ...'

Junpei: All right, let's open these up.

'The pieces of paper they'd folded up lay on the ground next to Junpei's legs.' (Aw, I thought they were talking about the doors...)

'There were 7 of them, all told. They were written on paper pulled from Junpei's notebook, and each one bore a codename and a door. Why had they decided to vote that way?' (Because you touch yourself at night.) (No, no, no! That's, once again, wrong and you know it!)

'They decided it wasn't fair to simply ask everyone at once--that would allow people to force others to go through certain doors. Well, that wasn't the only reason. Junpei had proposed the voting system...And he had a plan.' Oh...Junpei has a plan...

'It wasn't a plan he wanted anyone catching wind of, however, so he did his best to act calm as he began to open and read the pieces of paper.' (I guess we just have to wait to see exactly what it is...)

'The 1st one read...'

Junpei: Ace requests door [1].
Ace: Yes, I do. Would you like me to explain why?
Of course... (What? As in "you expected Ace to pick that door" or "Yes, Ace, I'd like to hear why you picked that door?") Both! Final Answer!

Junpei: No, we don't have the time for that. Sorry. Let's keep going...

'He opened the second one.'

Junpei: Next is Santa. He wants door [6].
Santa: Yeah, that's what I wrote.

'Junpei continued with the 3rd, 4th, and 5th pieces of paper.'

Junpei: Clover wants [1]... Lotus wants [2]...and Seven also wants [2].

Lotus: Eh!?
Well, logically, there'd be a 1 in 3 chance that Seven would pick the same door you did...not really that surprising.

Lotus: W-W-Wait a minute! There's no way I'm going anywhere with the Elephant Man!
That's strange, Seven doesn't look anything like this guy...

Junpei: No. There'd be no point to the voting if we let people change their choices because of stuff like that.
Lotus: But--!
Seven: Just give it up, Lotus. It's not like I wanna hang out with some exhibitionist grandma.
(Oh! Fight! I'm betting on Seven!)

Lotus: I'm not an exhibitionist! I'm wearing clothes!
(Barely any clothes...)

Seven: Barely.
Oh well and what do you know, Seven agrees with Niyagi.

Lotus: So?! Last I checked, that's not a crime!
Seven: Maybe, but what about common decency? Nobody wants to hafta look at a chick who looks like a half-naked raisin...
Do you need to have your eyes checked, Seven? Lotus actually looks pretty hot... (Shimohi...have you considered that maybe your eyes need to be checked? I mean, you did declare that the purple light and plate looked pink to you earlier...)

Lotus: RrrrrrrrRRRRGH! I'm going to kill you!

'Lotus's hair flared out like the mane of an angry lion, and she roared with a voice that shook the walls. With some difficulty, Ace managed to restrain her.'

Ace: Junpei! Read the rest!
Junpei: U-Uh...right...

'Junpei tore his eyes away and looked down at the 6th piece of paper. He opened it.'

Junpei: June wants door [6]...
Of course she does, it's the same number as her bracelet... (And...you figure that's why Ace wants Door 1?) Yep.

June: Yes. I don't really have a reason, I just felt like it.

'All of the papers, save Junpei's, had been read. He did some quick calculations in his head. People who requested door [1] = Ace + Clover. (This was the door on [A Deck], near the central staircase.) People who requested door [2] = Seven + Lotus. (This was the door on the [Bottom Deck] and could be reached by taking the elevator to the bottom of the ship.) People who requested door [6] = Santa + June. (This was the door on [E Deck] and could be reached by taking the elevator near the central staircase down.) It took him less than a second to run the numbers. He opened the 7th piece of paper and spoke.'

Junpei: Okay, the last one is mine. I want to go through...

-Door [1].-
-Door [2].-
-Door [6].-
(So is this...) ...Schrodingers Question? (Nope!) Well, I'm picking door 1 anyway...

 Junpei: My choice...is door [1].

'Santa was unconvinced.'

Santa: Hey, wait a minute there. You cheatin'?
Junpei: Cheating...?
Santa: I'm asking if you changed your number after you heard what doors we wanted.
Junpei: How could I do that? I wrote it down on the paper earlier.
Santa: Lemme see that.

'Junpei shrugged and handed it to him. Santa examined it furiously. The others peerd at it as well. As they did, Junpei quickly slipped the piece of paper he'd been hiding into his pocket. Although he'd never know it now, Santa had been justified in his suspicions. Junpei had switched papers.'

'He had prepared 3 pieces of paper, for doors [1], [2], and [6], and put the paper with "Door 6" on it into the pot. He put a small mark on it , so that he would know which one was his. He put the paper that said "Door 1" in his left hand, and the paper that read "Door 2 in his right. When the drawing began, he saw to it that he drew last. The rest was easy. If he wanted to go into door [1], he'd use his left hand, and his right hand if he wanted door [2]. Of course, if he wanted door [6], that would be simple. All he need do was switch nothing, and say 6 had been what he wanted all along.'

Junpei: Well? What does it say?

'He fought the urge to smirk.'

Santa: Hmph... You got lucky.

'Santa snorted, and tossed the paper aside, frustrated.'

Ace: Very well. We've decided who will go though door [1]. It will be Clover, Junpei, and myself.
Checked the numbers and...

 '1 + 4 + 5 = 10 [insert arrow here] 1 + 0 = 1'

Ace: Our only problem is the 2 remaining teams...
Santa: June and I want door [6].
Seven: Lotus and I want door [2].
June: That's not good... We can't open either of those doors with only 2 people...
Santa: ...
Seven: ...
June: ...
Lotus: Fine. Seven, we'll go though door [6].

'3 + 6 + 7 + 8 = 24 [insert arrow here] 2 + 4 = 6'

Seven: Sure thing. I didn't really wanna go though door [2] anyway.
(Exactly!) (What?) (You have to go down by the Mercury elevator, that's bad...) (What's both of your problem with the Mercury elevator!? Well, besides the fact that you read that Nightmare Fuel page...) Nope, that's pretty much it.

Seven: Besides, if we've got a younger girl with us, it'll lower the average age. Right, June?
June: Eh...Well... I... Um...

'June was at a loss for words. Lotus was not.' (Well, let's just sit back and watch the show... *munch* *crunch*) (Ew! Not those nachos again! I can't believe I'm saying this but, they smell even worse than before...)

Lotus: That pig... You just wait and see...

'Her eyes were the eyes of a woman prepared to kill. A shiver ran down Junpei's spine. Even after they separated at the staircase, Lotus was still muttering angrily to herself. Circumstances dictated that Junpei and June would have to part ways again, but this time it didn't sting quite so much. After all, he knew he would see her again...'
(Nope, you're going to die!) (Huh?)

Seven: 'Til we find that [9] door, Zero ain't gonna split us up. We might get separated for a little white, but we'll see each other again. Otherwise, we can't open door [9]. That's how the Nonary Game works.

'... ...Junpei, Ace, and Clover headed toward A Deck... They took out the Earth key and opened the door to the left. It opened, and they walked through. It was just as Santa and Lotus had said. At the end of the hallway sat a door with a large, red [1] upon it. A numbered door.'
--------------------------
And I think I'm going to end this post right here. Next time we'll go to the other side of Door 1, and see how this all will end...for the first playthough that is. (Oh, you know how this will end. It's the same ending you got the first time you played though this game, Clover will go Axe Crazy and...) (This had better NOT be the ending we're heading for...or else...)
