Visual Novelist: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors #11 - Pay no attention to the dead man on the floor!

And now, the answer to the question of what's behind that door... (Something tells me I'm not going to like this...)

Warning!: This is based upon a game that's rated M for Blood, Drug References, Strong Language, Suggestive (read 'Sexual') themes, and Violence. If any of these things offend you, don't click on the link.
'She walked up to the door and put her hand on the knob. It opened easily, and without so much as a pause, she walked in. Junpei and Ace followed. The first thing they saw...Was a man on the floor, covered in blood.'

Junpei: !
Ace: !
Clover: !

'Junpei felt his body seize up. His mouth went dry, and he felt very, very cold. The blood in his veins slowed to a crawl, and this heart tightened like a fist. This was the 3rd time he'd seen the horror of death laid before him. He didn't think it was something he could stand to see much more of. Still, he had begun to accept that whatever it was that he saw, whatever happened to him, was beyond his control, and whatever force controlled him was driven by a determination that he could not hope to match'
Oh no! He's on to us!

'A sense of helplessness, of desperation, washed over him. It left behind a feeling of utter emptiness that wormed its way though his body, like acid...'
Ow, that's got to be painful...

'...Then he realized... They had yet to check the man's pulse! Perhaps he was still alive!'
(Nope, "It's worse than that, he's dead, Jim, dead, Jim, dead, Jim; it's worse than that, he's dead, Jim, dead, Jim, dead.")

'Fueled by that spark of hope, Junpei ran to the man's body... And his heart fell. His fingers on the man's neck felt no pulse. His pupils had dilated, and he wasn't breathing.'
("He's not pining, he's passed on! This captain is no more! He has ceased to be! He's expired and gone to meet his maker! He. Is a late. Captain! He's a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace, if you hadn't had the audicity to think he's still had a pulse he would be pushing up the daisies! he's rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible! This! Is an EX! CAPTAIN!") (Okay, despite the paraphrasing, that definitely deserves another donation to the reference jar!)

'Junpei lifted the man's already-stiff body. There was a deep, red wound on his chest... Junpei did not have to wonder long at what could have made such a wound. ...For lying next to the corpse was an ax.' (And that's how we're going to meet our doom...)

'The entire blade of it was drenched in right red blood.'
That's funny... it's looks like it's more of a rust color by now... ([sarcasm] Ha-ha! Very funny... [/sarcasm])

'From the shape of the man's wound, there could be no doubt that it had been made by the ax. Junpei looked at the body again. A lake of blood stretched out around it. It was wearing the clothes of a ship's captain, although they were stained with blood... A captain... Did that mean that this man...was Zero?
(Nope, you're barking up the wrong proverbial tree...)

On his left hand was a bracelet. The number on the bracelet was... [0] It was only then that Junpei noticed the stench of blood that filled the room.
(Nope, that still doesn't mean that's Zero!) (You keep telling yourself that... Finally! I get to say that to someone else rather than hearing someone else say it to me!) Actually... Oops, I'm not supposed to mention that now... (What!?)

Junpei: Heh...

'He couldn't help but laugh. There was nothing else for him to say. It was too simple. Too obvious; too straightforward. If there hadn't been a dead man on the floor, Junpei might have thought it a joke.

-------------SEEK A WAY OUT!----------------

Well, another post, another puzzle... first, let's take a look at that bloody chair.

Clover: There's blood on the chair... Do you think this was the...dead guy's...
Junpei: Yeah, probably.
I turn to the right and...desk! Time to loot it for all it's worth! I open the middle drawer and there's a sheet of paper with a crap ton of numbers.

Junpei: What's the deal with this? Is it some kind of code?

'There are 4 rows of numbers and letters. They all start with a "0", and end with "8", "f", "n", or "v", respectively. Maybe this has something to do with number bases.'

'New material has been added to the file screen.'
Alrighty then, let's take a look at this new file... (Here's the chains of numbers and letters.) 012345678, 0123456789abcdef, 0123456789abcdefghijklmn, and 0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqrstuv. What's in that other drawer...

'A drawer.' Duh! I want to know what's in it!

'There's nothing inside.' Oh... what about that box near the desk?

'They look like batteries. There's a cable running from them to the monitor.' So... let's go back to the left side of the room... and what's on the bed side table? A small lamp and... I obtained a music box!

Junpei: Oh, it's one of those old music boxes... How about we wind it up?
Clover: Why's it sound like that? Is it broken?
Junpei: The pins on the cylinder are shaped all weird...
Clover: I don't think those are the pins... It looks like someone put something else on top of it... I think we're gonna have to take it apart to figure out what's going on, don't you?
Does the side table have a drawer that can be looted?

'A small table.' Nope, better try elsewhere... Anything on or in or under the bed?

Clover: A bed... There's nothing in it.
But what about under it!? Oh! I see a video camera on a tripod!

Clover: A camcorder...
Junpei: It looks like it's pointed at the door.
Clover: Well, the power's on...
Junpei: Why would someone want to videotape a door?
What about the chair in front of the desk?! (Now you're grasping at straws...)

Clover: A chair...
Again!

'A chair. It looks a little lonely...'
(Well, there's still the monitors...) I tap on the monitor that's the second from the left on the bottom row...

'This screen shows the big hospital room.' (Okay...try the keyboard!)

Junpei: There's a bunch of weird buttons on here... The probably switch what you see on the screens...
Clover: Do you know how to work this thing...?
Junpei: Um... Why don't we just press on of these... Like...this one!
(That won't help at all...)

'Well, I guess it does change the---!'

Junpei: Wh-What the hell is this...
(...because you'll be...trolled you'll be trolled!) By Zero... Backing up...

Junpei: Heh...

'Junpei snorted with grim humor for the 2nd time since he'd come into the room. The 4 screens along the bottom had a single letter each, spelling out "z e r o". Junpei felt as though he was being mocked... The real villian was somewhere, laughing at him.'

Junpei: What do you think?

'He turned to Clover, who was standing next to him. Her voice was almost too low to hear.'

Clover: Nothing...

'It seemed that she cared about little.'
(Including our lives!) (Why do you keep implying that she's going to kill us all!?) (Because she will!)

'Of course, Junpei could hardly blame her. Given the strain she was surely under, Junpei was somewhat surprised she had responded at all. Still, he had to ask. He gestured toward the corpse.'

Junpei: What about him? Do you think that's really Zero?

'Clover shook her head weakly.'

Clover: There's no way that's him. Didn't I tell you already? Zero is one of us...
Junpei: Yeah...right.
(No, she is absolutely correct.)

Clover: I know it's important to figure out who this guy is, but... Don't you think we should figure out how to get out of here first?
Junpei: But...
Clover: Please... I don't want to waste any more time...

'Clover looked miserable, as if she could start crying at any moment. Junpei just didn't have the heart to tell her no.'

Junpei: All right. Sure thing.
Well, that's why I'm going to keep time wasted on me messing around to a minimum.

'Was his mind playing tricks on him, Junpei wondered. For a moment, he could have sworn he'd seen Clover smile. ... ...'
And back to the communication room! What's this box on the dresser drawers... and we obtained some small screwdrivers!

Ace: Hmm... A set of small screwdrivers. Perhaps we can use them to dismantle small devices?
Way ahead of ya! Let's see... small screwdrivers plus music box equal...

Junpei: All right, this screwdriver oughta make short work of this music box...
And we get a cylinder in return...

Ace: It looks to be a cylinder for a music box. There are a number of pins and some pieces of metal that look rather like fans attached to it.
Alright, now we still haven't raided the drawers here yet! And we find... ink!

Ace: A bottle of ink. It's filled with ink...
(No shit Sherlock!) And over to our left is... a desk that has yet to be looted!

Ace: It looks as though that drawer is the only thing that's locked.
Junpei: I don't see a keyhole, though...
Ace: An electric lock, perhaps? Take a look a the left side of the drawer...
Junpei: Yeah, there's some cables over there.

'That must mean...' But for now, more desk looting! And in the left side drawers we find...

Junpei: Hey... What is this? It's blank... There's nothing written on it.
We obtain some paper! (No making that into paper cranes now!) I know...I have an idea... cylinder plus ink equals...

Junpei: Um... I guess I'll put the ink on the cylinder...
And we get... a dirty cylinder!

Ace: Ah, yes, I see. You put ink on the cylinder.
Junpei: Yeah... If I roll it across a piece of paper, the pins and the fans will leave marks on it, right? The pins'll make dots, and the fans will leave lines.
(Like Morse fucking code!)

Ace: All right then, show us.
Indeed... dirty cylinder plus paper...

Junpei: Now I just gotta roll the cylinder across a piece of paper... And if I'm right, the ink should...
...obtain a Morse code chart!

Ace: Just as you suspected, right? Now you have a pattern of dots and lines on the paper. I imagine it's Morse code. These dots and lines are the dots and dashes of Morse code.
Let's see...either the patter is dot, dot, dash, dash, dash, dot, dot, dot, dash, five dots, dash, dash, dot, dot, and dot or it's this in the reverse order. To the Telegraph! ...Do I actually have to tap it out with my stylus!?

'All right, I've got the Morse code I'm supposed to enter... If I do this right... Something will happen. I hope.'

Junpei: All right! Let's give this a shot!
Oh, I got it upside-down. Still, I'll get this right!

'That's the last one, and... Yes!'

Ace: Excellent work, Junpei! Good job! You seem to have figured it out! You've unlocked the drawer!
And NOW it's time to raid that drawer!

'A red file lay in the drawer. Junpei reached down and picked it up. The cover read... "ALLICE". But...was it supposed to say "ALL ICE"? There wasn't a space between the "L" and the "I". Were they trying to say that "ALLICE" was a single word? It was an interesting thought, but it left Junpei's mind quickly as he opened the file--what lay inside was far more interesting, and far more confusing. Each page was covered with strange characters. They looked like tiny drawing of birds, snakes, insects, horned animals, wings, and even kneeling humans.' Would that be Egyptian Hieroglyphics?

'There were many pages in the file, and each was full of these strange symbols.' (Wait...remember that story June told us about the mummy's curse...) ...

Junpei: What the hell is this...

'He didn't realize he'd spoken out loud until Ace looked over at him.'

Ace: They are hieroglyphs. A form of writing used in ancient Egypt.
I knew it! Wait... *looks up at Akurei's mention of June's mummy's curse story* Great...I knew it...

Junpei: ...Ancient Egypt?
Ace: That's right.
Junpei: Can you read them?
Ace: Of course...I can't. What would make you think I could?
(Ace isn't that old...)

Junpei: What the hell...

'Junpei flipped though a few more pages. It wasn't just 1 or 2 pages that were covered in the strange symbols... Every single page was covered in them. Trying to read them was pointless. Junpei wasn't going to waste any more time with them. He made to close the file--And then something fell out. He bent down and picked it up.'

Junpei: ...A key card. There was a symbol on it that reminded Junpei of the symbols from the Saturn and Mercury key cards. This one, however, had a dot in the center of the male symbol...

Ace: Uranus.
(*LOL*) (No! He didn't say "Your anus"!) But it does kind of sound like it... *snort*

Ace: ...That's the Uranus symbol.

'Junpei looked over to see Ace examining the card. In additon to the Uranus symbol, there were 3 words engraved on the card as well. On the lower right, it said "BOTTOM DECK LIBRARY". Was the bottom deck a library...? ...Whatever might be there, however, would have to wait. At the moment, there was nothing Junpei could do. He gripped the key card tighter, and shove it deep into his pocket.'

'New material has been added to the file screen.'
Well, let's check it out!

'A file found in the communications office. It says "ALLICE" on the spine. All of the pages are filled with hieroglyphics from ancient Egypt.' And what's this that's also in the drawer... obtained a unique key!

Ace: A key with a leather case... It isn't metal... My guess would be ceramic. Junpei, have you found a keyhole that might fit it?
Not yet... Back to the Captains Quarters! Well there is that door in front of the camera...

'Let's see if shaking you gets us anywhere...No dice.' Well, there is that thing attached to the door...

'The control panel for the electronic lock. Looks like it's got a keyhole on the bottom right...'

Junpei: Maybe the key I got earlier...

'...Sweet! Just had to put that key in, and now it's on!'

Clover: Junpei, look! There's a minus sigh on the screen!
Looks more like 8 of them.

Junpei: There's 8 of them. That probably means we've got to put in 8 digits.
Clover: Do you think you can figure it out...?
Junpei: Ummmmm...
(Well, there's got to be a reason for that sheet of paper with the hexidecimal shit on it...and there's too many letters to use ALLICE so that leaves...ZERO. *yawn* The answer is 35 14 27 24...have a nice death...) (Wait!? What?)

Junpei: 8 digits, huh...

'Once I've put in the 8-digit number, I just press [E] to enter it. And if I mess up, I guess I just press [C].'

Junpei: All right. Let's give it a shot.
Let's see here... 3, 5, 1, 4, 2, 7, 2, 4 and Enter!

'LOCK-OPEN'

Junpei: Yes! It worked!
Clover: Good job, Junpei!
Ace: Excellent! You seem to have unlocked it!
And once again, I heard that in Mr. Burns voice... (Why... why must you make all kinds of stupid references...?) Because it's entertaining.

Ace: Good work, Junpei.
Junpei: All right... Let's go!
Open that door!

-------------YOU FOUND IT----------------

'They stepped out of the captain's quarters and into another hallway. The hallway streatched out in front of Junpei for a bit, before turning left, like a great, backward L. Junpei rounded the corner, and took off down the straightaway. He ran. ...And ran. ...And ran... At the end of the hallway was a door. He made straight for it. He was nearly halfway to it when he noticed a piece of paper in the middle of the floor.'
(What the...?!)

'What was a piece of paper doing in the middle of the hallway?'
(Good question there...)

'Junpei skidded to a halt. He dropped down to his hands and knees, and quickly torn the paper off of the floor. Now that he had a chance to examine it more closely, it was clear that it was a map. More specifically, a [map of the ship's interior for the A Deck].'

Ace: *Pant* *Pant* *Pant* What's wrong?

'Ace, slightly slower by virtue of his advanced age, had finally caught up to Junpei.' (Are you sure that's why he's panting?)

'Junpei said nothing--simply showed Ace what he had found. He looked at it long enough to determine what it was, and nodded.'

Ace: I see.

'With that, he began running again, past Junpei. Junpei shoved the map into his pocket, and got up to follow Ace--' (Think we're going to find out why Ace was running!) (WHAT ARE YOU IMPLYING!?)

'But something stopped  him.'

Junpei: Hey... Where's Clover...?

'He turned around. Clover was nowhere to be seen.' (You'd better run as well, Junpei...never mind, we're doomed.) (I still don't know what you're talking about!)

Junpei: Damnit! What the hell is she up to?!

'Junpei muttered angrily under his breath, and took off back the way he'd come.' (No! Don't you blockhead!)

'As he stomped around the corner, he saw her. She was standing in front of the door to the captain's quarters, her hand on the doorknob. As Junpei watched, she closed it, gently and quietly.' (And... Nothing happened! I don't see what you're so worked up about!? Ever since the operating room, you've been ranting and raving about how Clover's going to kill us. But she hasn't been doing any of that sort of thing at all!)

Junpei: What the hell are you doing?
Clover: Nothing...
([sarcasm] Right... [/sarcasm])

Junpei: What do you mean "nothing"?
(She means "getting the ax so I can kill you in a most painful fashion...and also cut off your left wrist.")

'Clover had, unconsciously, put her hands over the pockets of her jacket, as if trying to hide something.'

Junpei: What the hell is that?
(Your DOOM MOTHERFUCKER!) (Shimohi! Can you stop the Monster from spouting this crazy talk...) ...uh...Junpei...run for your life! (Not you too!)

Clover: What...?
Junpei: You've got something in your pocket. What is it?
(I already told you, "Your DOOM!"...Okay, to be more precie, it's that ax back there...)

Clover: Oh, this...?
(RUN!!!) RUN!!! (What are you telling Junpei...) ("Tenmyouji"!) (...to run away from!? No! Not that voice! Where is it coming from!?)

Clover: Uh...um... This is... Hm, I wonder...
Junpei: What the hell!?
Clover: C'mon! We gotta hurry!

'With that, Clover ran, straight past a somewhat confused Junpei.' (Okay, at this point, I can saw all of us are going crazy!)

'As she did, he caught a glimpse of her back... Sticking up from her collar, was something that looked like a...big wooden stick...' (That's the ax handle! We're all going to die!) (Stop saying we're all going to die!)

Junpei: Hey! Clover! What the hell's that thing on your back?!

'She didn't respond. Instead, she quickly turned the corner and disappeared.'

Junpei: ...

'Junpei did his best to convince himself that it would make sense later, and ran off after Clover. Junpei pushed through the door, and found himself in a large room with a large set of stairs.' Well... we are... ("...forced right back into the start...") (Huh...I have never heard Niyagi do any singing of songs... ever!)

'It was just what he'd expected to see, after reading the map. His "I see" after reading the map himself meant that Ace had probably realized the same thing. Junpei looked around, but Ace was nowhere to be seen...' That's a bad sign...

'He put his hand on the handrail and leaned over to look down. There he was. And not just Ace... Santa, June, Seven, and Lotus as well.' (Can you two quit it with the false alarms already!?)

'Junpei and Clover glanced at each other and hurried down the stairs. They reached B Deck at the same time.'

June: Jumpy! Clover!

'June's face was excited. Something had happened, that much Junpei could tell by simply looking at her.'

Junpei: What's up?
Yeah, what's up?

'Given their situation, he was not inclined to be excited about sudden developments. June, however, couldn't contain herself.'

June: We found it!
Junpei: Found what...?
([sarcasm] What do you think!? [/sarcasm] The 9 Door!)

June: We found it!
Junpei: What did you find?!
June: The last door! We found door [9]!
(I knew it!) (See, things are going to work out!)

Junpei: Wha... What?!
Even the question and exclamation marks are italicized! Now that's serious business!

Seven: C'mon, just follow us! We'll explain on the way.
Junpei: O-Okay! Let's go!

'Seven turned, and jogged off down the stairs. The rest followed.'

June: We finally made it...

'The relief and excitement in her voice, echoed what each of them felt.'

Junpei: Yeah... It's finally time...

'Junpei wasn't quite ready to believe they'd really done it, at least not just yet. Sill, if everyone said it was door [9], then it probably was... He could feel his heart racing. A mixture of anticipation and fear ran though his veins, and he could feel his legs shaking. He was doing his best to maintain a sense of healthy skepticism, but he couldn't deny that the prospect of escape was an exciting one. But there was one thing he couldn't get off his mind...' What?

'The numbered door could only accommodate between 3 and 5 people. There were 7 of them on their way to the door [9]. That meant that even in the best-case scenario, there would be 2 of them who would have to stay behind. 2 people... He didn't have any solutions to that problem yet, but he was desperately hoping one would present itself. Junpei looked over at the clock. The hands indicated that it was 4:30. They had 90 minutes before their time was up.'

Santa: Hey! Junpei! June! What the hell are you 2 doin'?! Hurry it up!

'Santa's voice jolted Junpei out of his reverie.'

June: Let's go, Jumpy!

'June took off down the stairs, jogging as quickly as she could. Junpei followed. They were quiet for a while, until... The had just reached C Deck when Clover spoke.' (No!) (Stop freaking out already!)

Clover: Hey... What about door [2]?

'Everyone else stopped. They all turned to look at Clover.' Let me guess, because that door has the same number as her dead brother?

'Seven spoke.'

Seven: What about door [2]?
Clover: Door [2] is the only one we didn't... We  haven't gone thorough it, I mean...
Ace: Yes, that is true...
Clover: Are you guys okay with that? Not investigating it, I mean?
Santa: So what?! We found door [9]! We don't need any of the other doors!
Clover: What's the point?
June: ...
Clover: What's the point in going to door [9]?
Well, let's see, getting of the ship that's currently SINKING! (Are you sure the ship is sinking? Are you sure we're even on a ship?) (That's it, you're off the deep end.)

Lotus: ...
Clover: We can't all go through it, can we?
Junpei: ...
Clover: Then we should do what we have to do before we go any further.
Seven: ...
Clover: It's like a jigsaw puzzle...
Jig...Saw... (You're still doing stupid references at a time like this! You're off the deep end!)

Clover: The best way to finish it quickly is to do the border pieces first. You know?
Good advice there...if it wasn't for the fact that we have less than 90 minutes left to go! Or...

Ace: ...
Clover: Or what?
(What!? Did she just hear you just then?!)

Clover: You think all 7 of us should go to door [9]... And then we argue over who stays behind and who gets to go? Do we really wanna do that again?
Santa: ...
Clover: Who knows? If we check out door [2], maybe we'll find something... Maybe we can find a way to get...all of us out...
June: ...
Clover: I dunno what might be in there. We might not find anything.
In which case we would've just wasted a bunch of time...

Clover: But don't you think it'd be better to at least have a look? I mean...am I wrong? Does that sound wrong to you guys?
Lotus: ...
Seven: ...
Ace: ...
Santa: ...
June: ...
Junpei: Yeah... You do have a point...

'The others nodded in agreement.'

Junpei: The last time I checked the clock, it was 4:30. It's not like we've got a lot of time, but... If we're quick about it, we might have time to take a look.
June: You're right. Let's go take a look at door [2].

'... ...They were back in front of the elevator. Nearby was the large hospital room. The elevator could take them down to door [2]. After a few minutes of discussion, they decided that Clover, Santa, June, and Seven would go.'

'4 + 3 + 6 + 7 = 20 [insert arrow here] 2 + 0 = 2'

Clover: All right. Let's get going...
June: I'll see you later.
Junpei: Okay. Be careful.

'They climbed into the elevator and Junpei listened to it creak and rattle its way to the bottom deck. Only Junpei, Ace, and Lotus were left. As the elevator rumbled out of sight, Ace spoke.'

Ace: Lotus, would you be so kind as to go with me?
Lotus: Go with you? I didn't think people still talked that way outside of the 1950s... Well, I'm a mother. Would that be a problem for you?
Ace: U-Uh... That wasn't what I meant to... I was hoping you would come with me...
Lotus: Ha ha ha... Seriously though, I was kidding.
Ace: ...
Lotus: So, where was it you wanted to take me?
Ace: There's something I wanted to show you...
(No! Don't! It's a trap!) (I REALLY don't think that Ace is really a woman...) (Not that kind of trap! I meant the type involving death!) (Again with that!? If it wasn't for that voice in my head, I'd say I was the only sane person here...)

Junpei: Hey man, what the hell? I'm not important enough?
Ace: Well, it's...not like that. Once I've shown Lotus, I'll show you.
(Well, Clover's going to show us it first.) (Ew! Gross!) I can't believe I'm saying this but... Niyagi, get your brain out of the gutter!

Junpei: Really...?
Ace: Of course.

'Ace's smile was friendly.'

Junpei: Fine. Do whatever you want.
Ace: Thank you. Are you coming, Lotus?
Lotus: Fine. It doesn't look like they're going to be back any time soon. I might as well go see whatever it is you think is so important.
Ace: Thank you. Well then... Shall we go?

'Ace turned, and began to walk. Lotus followed. They disappeared into the hallway on the left. ... ...Junpei wasn't sure how long they'd been gone when the elevator suddenly opened. A single person stood there... Clover. She looked at Junpei, then slowly, purposefully, stepped out of the elevator.' (I know I made all those false alarms earlier, but still, you've got to run...aw fuck this, we're doomed.)

'The door closed behind her.'

Junpei: Where's everybody else...? What happened?

'She didn't answer. Instead, her eyes swept the room, and then settled on Junpei.'

Clover: Where are Ace and Lotus...?
(You keep insisting that Clover's going to kill Junpei...) ("Tenmyouji"!) (...ever since the operating room! Why are you doing that!?) (Isn't it obvious! Her bracelet number is 4!) (Huh?) In the Chinese, Korean, and Japanese languages, the word for the number "4" can also sound like the word for "death". So, "Four is Death"... (That's the stupidest thing to base a crazy theory off of!) (But it's true!) (So you say...)

'Junpei explained what had happened. ...'

Clover: Oh.. Then they went over there?

'Her voice was small and timid.'

Junpei: Yeah, I think so.

'He repeated his earlier question.'

Junpei: So where are June and Santa and Seven? Why aren't they with you?
Clover: Yo really wanna know...?
Yeah, but Niyagi...something tells me you're not going to like the answer... (That's because you've been hearing the Monster's rants the whole time.)

'There was something wrong with her smile.' That's a slasher smile! Run for the proverbial hills! (And... Shimohi's jumped onto the doom and gloom bandwagon...)

Junpei: Y-Yeah...
Clover: Okay... Sure... Here, lemme show you...
([dull sarcasm] Aw...fuck no...this is it... [/dull sarcasm])

'Clover pulled something out of her pocket and tossed it onto the floor at Junpei's feet. He looked down. On the floor in front of him...were 3 metal rings. Bracelets.'

Junpei: Oh my God... Oh holy shit...
(And you're next...) (No...you can't mean that! That's just another false alarm!)

'Junpei collapsed.'

Junpei: No... No way... This is gotta be some kinda joke... This...this can't be real...

'Junpei's body felt like rubber. His heart felt like a cold lump in his chest, and his hands shook uncontrollably. Sweat poured down his face. The 3 bracelets sat there on the floor before him. He could see the numbers on their faces...'

'----[3]----'
'----[7]----'

'And...'

'----[6]----'

'...'

'"Lastly, let us discuss [how to remove the bracelets]. There are only 2 ways to do so." "One: You escape from this ship." "Two: Your heart rate reaches zero." "In other words, once the bracelet is taken outside the confines of the ship, or detects that its wearer's heartbeat has fallen to zero, it will shut down automatically."'
(So...are you saying that...that...?)
Junpei: But... Why...

'Junpei's voice was flat and broken. Clover's response was cold.'

Clover: [Revenge] for my brother. He was forced into door [3] and murdered.
(Wait! You shouldn't have done that! I know Shimohi doesn't like me leaking spoilers but, Snake is still alive on the ship somewhere! Remember the state of that corpse! Remember about the state of it's left arm, and you'll know this to be ture!) (Now the Monster's going mad from the relevation!) How can Akurei and I go mad when we already are?!

Clover: You need at least 3 people to open a door. Who were the 2 that opened that door with him...?
(It...It was Ace with the 9th Man's bracelet! Okay!)

Clover: It could only have been Santa and Seven. That's why I killed them.
(But Santa, Seven and June were innocent of that crime!)

'2 + 3 + 7 = 12 [insert arrow here] 1 + 2 = 3' (But this also works!)
'2 + 1 + 9 = 12 [insert arrow here] 1 + 2 = 3'

Junpei: But...why... Why did you kill June?
Clover: Because she tried to protect them. She was in my way.
(Because they didn't do it you little bitch!) (Did you just call a little girl a "bitch"!?) (Yeah, and that's because she is!)

Clover: She had to die too.
Junpei: No... No...

'Junpei shook his head, trying desperately to wake himself from what had to be a dream.' Or more like a nightmare...

'It couldn't be real... It just couldn't...'

Clover: Hey, Junpei...

'He felt Clover's hand on his shoulder.' (What...? What...?! What...!?)

'Her smile was wrong--horribly wrong. Her face looked like a mask made from stretched human skin.' (Oh no! It's the Joker run for you lives... Oh wait, Junpei's paralized from shock. He's going to die.) (So... you knew this was going to happen...!?) (Uh...oh...)

'The smile that parted her lips did not extend to her eyes. They were dead and empty. The girl in front of him was no longer the Clover he had known. Perhaps she was not even human...' Seriously, that's one creepy picture of Clover right there...

Clover: Let's go.

'Her hand reached out toward him...' No! (Whatever you do, don't take her hand! Just don't!) (Why? She's just going to help him up...)

Clover: Let's get out of here. Let's leave this ship.
Junpei: Wha... What the hell are you talking about...? To...to open a...numbered door...
Clover: Yes, I know. You need at least 3 people. But as long as we have this...

'Once again, Clover reached into her pocket, and pulled something out. It was another bracelet. Junpei could see the number on the face.'

'----[0]----'

'[0]... "You've got something in your pocket. What is it?" "Oh, this...? Uh...um... This is..." ... ...'

Clover: See? You get it now? If we have the (0) bracelet, we can leave. You and I can open door [9] with just the 2 of us.

'4 + 5 + 0 = 9' Simple math, but still...

Clover: See...? So let's go!
Junpei: ...
Clover: C'moooon! Hurry up!

'She shoved out her hand again. Junpei looked up at Clover. She had the face of a demon...' (Yo! Demon's rule!)

'But there was...something else. There was a holy light that surrounded her.' (Uh...that's, to put it poeticly, the light of the fires of hell...)

'She was both a fierce god, and a benevolent goddess, filled with love...' those two can also be seen as a benevolent god and a fierce goddess... but either way works.

Clover: Junpei...?

'Her voice was soft. Her eyes weren't so empty anymore... They were deep--so deep, Junpei could feel himself falling into them.' Now this is a trap...of the death variety! By use of the Jedi Mind Trick!

'He felt dizzy. There was something oddly bewitching about her. His mind was beginning to crack, and his heart began to melt.'

Clover: Junpei...?

'The hand she was offering him... It looked so soft...so inviting...' (Three words! "Venus" "Fly" and "Trap"!)

'Junpei reached out with his own trembling hand, and closed it over hers...'

aaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
(*blood curdling scream*)

'Junpei writhed in agony. He shuddered and twitched, his body spasming as he went into shock. He screamed until his throat was torn and bloody, then screamed more. His cries echoed across the room. Eventually, his movements slowed, then faded... There was no more strength left in Junpei. He could feel his body begin to go numb. He no longer felt pain. He no longer felt anything. Whatever Junpei had been was gone. The last remnats of his mind began to fade... ... ... Even as his vision faded to nothingness, he saw Clover.'

Clover: Thanks, Junpei. I'm just gonna borrow this, 'kay?

'Her smile was cold. What was left of Junpei's conscious mind drifted away.' (You two...you let her become this monster... like you!) (Oh crap...) (As a matter of fact, you two engenered events to end like this...) This is really bad...

'All that was left was a twisted, broken corpse.' (*Riding a steam train like that bomb in that one movie* It's time...to board the Monster killing train! Choo-choo! Motherfucker! Choo!) *Shimohi and Akurei running away* Oh... (...Shit!!!)

'BAD END'

'You have reached one ending. This game has multiple endings.' (*Still running away from Niyagi's "Monster killing train"* ...NO SHIT SHERLOCK...!!!)

'In order to experience all the endings, you need to save now. Once you've saved, you can restart the game, with information you've acquired in this playthrough saved.' *Like Akure, running away from that train* ...I know! That was the plan for this Let's Play...!

'Once you begin the game again, you can skip though text you've already seen. Simply press "right" on the +Control Pad to fast-forward though lines you've already read.' (...that's nice to know but...) ...we still have to deal with a homicidal Niyagi over here!

'Once you reach lines you haven't seen, or new choices, it will automatically stop. The "Memories of the escape" option has been added to the main menu. "Memories of the escape" enables you to play the stages you have completed. It is recommended to save after this in order to unlock the "Memories of the escape".' ...okay, I've got an idea...! (...what...!?) ...It's Niyagi's memories of what we did here that causing her to act this way... (...yeah, what about it...?) (The two of you can't keep running forever!) ...So all we need to do to get her back to normal is a bit of laser-guided amnesia...! (...Fine, whatever, just whatever you do hurry it up...!)

'Would you like to keep the information you've gained during this playthrough? This data will be retained in your save file. If you restart the game, you will still start at the beginning.'

-Yes-
-No-
(...Yeah! Save the game already...!) *leaving behind a trail of random items flattened by the train* Ah ha! Found it! *Runs at the train, jumps onto the train just before it can hit him, and stand in front of Niyagi and puts on a pair of sunglasses* Hi! Watch the birdie! (Wh-what!?) *neuraliser flashes and Niyagi's eyes goes blank for a moment before* (Huh? Where am I, what were we doing, and where did this train come from? *the train disappears*) (Thank Satan! *passes out from exhaustion*)
------------------------------------
Next time we start the second playthrough of Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors... (Huh? Did you already do the first playthough? What happened?) Just trust me, it'll be best for everyone, even you, if I don't answer that question. (Well, what ever we did, you two somehow made a lot of references to that silly, strange British comedy show...)
